SOS (Learning Dissemination)

An initiative by 3Cube Services (focussed on bridging mental health gaps) and CIRM Servizi (maritime stakeholder’s organisation), the conference was attended by key stakeholders and mental health professionals to understand, discuss and find solutions for the mental health issues faced by the sailors at sea, far away from the help they need. We developed and produced a playlet, ‘SOS’, in association with Dr. Chinmay Kulkarni, a psychiatrist, and Capt. Shridhar Bharatan, co-founder of 3Cube services. The live experience, theatrical production worked as a bridge that facilitated understanding among the two groups- mental health and merchant navy professionals, while being an effective aid at demonstrating the issues the latter faced and emphasising the need for increased mental health awareness. The conference was held in Mumbai, India, on 19th July 2019.
